Dear Friend,
On November 6, we had some great victories. In addition to re-electing our President, we made history by electing the first woman from Massachusetts to the US Senate. We elected a new congressman from our district who will continue the tradition of progressive leadership in the US House. And I am proud to say that I was elected to serve for my eighth term in the Massachusetts State Legislature. It is a great honor to represent the people of Newton on Beacon Hill.
I am excited to return to the legislature where I will continue to be an independent and progressive voice. Even in these challenging times, I will continue to fight for world class public services. This session, we will have to tackle the crisis in our public transportation system, as we continue to improve our schools and ensure that affordable and quality health care is available to all. I will continue to work to protect the environment, maintain equal rights for all the people of Massachusetts, and a strong safety net for the most vulnerable among us.
